Morocco excursions 10 days

Day 01: Arrival Marrakech

Welcome and reception at the airport of Marrakech then transfer you will be assisted during the check in, dinner and overnight at the hotel/riad.

Day 02: Marrakech – Essaouira

After breakfast, departure to Essaouira. Upon arrival, lunch fish. In the afternoon, city tour and alleys of the medina of Essaouira, a former Portuguese fort known for its handicrafts, silver jewelry and inlaid wood of Thuja. Dinner and overnight.

Day 03: Essaouira – El Jadida- Casablanca

Breakfast and departure to Casablanca via El Jadida with lunch at El Oualidia (can eat the fish specialties). Continuation to El Jadida along the Atlantic coast. Arrival in Casablanca. Dinner and overnight.

Day 04 : Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fez

Depart early after breakfast towards Fez we will stop to visit rabat the capital politics of morocco ,and also overlooks the sea, we will see the crenellated red ocher walls, more than 5 km long in total and built in the period of ruling the sultan yacoub el-mansour, which give the city a very special character that distinguishes it. you will cross the medina and its souks more authentic than others because the products of shops have turned to local customers than we visit the Kasbah of the odayas, erected by a terrible tribe of predators in the twelfth centry then we visit Hassan tower, where 4 facades are decorated different from each other, three in shades of pink and one in the gray because of the sea breeze, the remains of the old mosque and the Mohamed 5 mausoleum next to the tower, a masterpiece of Moroccan traditional architecture, full of valuable materials from around the world and splendid decorations from there you will return to the new town to see the royal palace, residence of king the merinide dynasty. Lunch will be in a nice restaurant,we continue to visit Meknes, one has a magnificent view of the Medina. The tour begins with a tour of the walls with monumental gates dating from the seventeenth century Berdaine Bab, Bab Khemis. We continue exploring the city by the stables (Rua), attics (HERI), and Stud. Stop needed at the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail was for a long time the only mosque that non-Muslims could visit in Morocco. It then exits through the famous Bab Mansour El on the vast square Hedim. On the other side of the square, the Museum of Moroccan Art “Dar Jamai” offers a wide variety of handicrafts, then we visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis and spend a few time exploring the 2000-year-old ruins and getting a picture of life during the Roman Empire,we reach fez in the evening for Diner and overnight.

Day 05: A visit to Fez

You will begin your day by touring the old city of Fez (Fes el-Bali) and its medina, the largest and most famous of the Arab world, entering from Bab boujloud which is a huge door and entrance into the old medina you will head towards Dar Batha, a Hispanic-Moorish building that houses a fine museum of folk art. You will then visit the Medersa mosque an old Quranic school in Fez medina where boys studied the Koran in classrooms where you will see its magnificent patio. The tour then continues through the tannery Chouara, you will discover the fascinating process of how the animals skins are treated and dyed, from the first clean-up to the hair colouring with the most beautiful natural colours. We will then go to the mosque of El Qaraouiyine, founded in the ninth century by a woman and thought to be one of the oldest universities in the world. The city tour ends passing through the square Seffarine, where coppersmiths and tinkers populate the square and adjacent streets. You will emerge from the medina through Bab Semmarine which is an exit from the medina that is located close to the site of the king’s palace.

Day 06 :Fez – Ifran – Medilt – Merzouga

Depart early from fez you will begin your ascent We pass through Ifrane, a winter ski resort in a totally un Moroccan style built by the French in the 1930’s to resemble a Swiss village; we visit the cedars forest in azrou you will see the monkeys , drive across the Middle Atlas Mountains. Most of the day will be spent winding your way through the beautiful forests, springs, jagged rock faces, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and begin to descend towards the Sahara Desert. Half way, you will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils and rocks, then we continue towards merzouga in the road we will stop in a panoramic views to see the a huge oasis of palm tree we reach to merzouga in the afternoon,diner with Saharan music and over night in traditional Kasbah.

Day 07: Merzouga – Todra gorges – Ouarzazate

Today we travel via Tinerhir, along the valley of a thousand Kasbahs! Then via the steep Todra Gorge to Ouarzazate. (Dinner/breakfast).

Day 08 : Ouarzazate – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, the entire day is devoted to the visit of Ouarzazate: the Kasbah of Taourirt, Tifoultout and the cinema studio. Then you will drive to the Kasbah of Ait Ben haddou (under Unesco protection) ; visit of the Kasbah and the old village afternoon departure to Marrakech via the Tizi-N-Ticha pass ; arrival to Marrakech around 5:30 pm.

Day 09: The visit tour Marrakech

You will start by visiting the Bahia palace, or the ”beautiful”, the nickname of the favored abode of the rich vizier Ba Ahmed, built around 1880. From there to the palace Dar Si- Said also a splendid residence of the brother of the Vizier. Near these two buildings you can see the outside of the Mosque El-Mansour also known as the Mosque of the kasbah, easily recognizable thanks to its minaret with turquoise arabesques. You will continue with a visit to the Saadian tombs, the garden which belonged to the mosque of El-Mansour, who guards the tombs of the kings of this dynasty and family. If you are interested there is the possibility of going to a traditional Moroccan hammam in the afternoon and / or a massage with Argan oil.

You will return to the riad for dinner. After dinner you will take a walk to the big square Jamaa el-Fna where you will find its characteristic street vendors which ensure a continuous show. You will meet fortune tellers, snake charmers, small groups of musicians, water carriers, and tattooists. You will spend the night at the riad.

Day 10: Marrakech – Marrakech Airport

After Breakfast you will transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule, we will assist you during boarding formalities and wish you a happy return to your country.
